Babies Home Effect 5/14
May was a month of joy and excitement as we bid farewell to two of our precious babies and made way for new ones as well!
Cheerio, BabyL and BabyQ!
BabyL was a beautiful blessing to Fairhavens for the few months she was with us. After being abandoned at a local hospital, she came into our care earlier this year and has been a bundle of joy and happiness ever since! There are many reasons why this vibrant tot’s adoption is special – one of them being the fact that she is our first HIV baby to be adopted! Every month, she has been taken to receive her ARVs – leaving us in perfect health, she is incredibly brave and a strong fighter! Her friendly personality will be sorely missed but we look forward to hearing stories of her new happy journeys in Denmark.
We also said goodbye to BabyQ, one of our remarkable little boys as he returns to the care of his biological granny.
Due to this upcoming departure, our physiotherapist has been working hard with BabyQ on exercises to stimulate his muscle development. It is of utmost importance to us that the babies in our care are given that special, one-on-one treatment that they need to help develop and learn. Whether it be reading with them daily or doing muscle-development exercises – we want to ensure that our babies are nurtured and given the loving attention that they deserve.
At the end of May, we saw two new tots come into our care. The incredible story behind these two, is the fact that they both lay in cribs alongside each other in the hospital when they had no place to stay and be looked after at, now a few weeks later they lay alongside each other under our roof – cared for and loved for the way they should be.
