Lighthouse Property Group extends a hand to “help the helpless”!
When Greg Harris, CEO of the Lighthouse Property Group, read about Fairhavens Babies’ Home’s recent move to new premises in Durban North and how a local company had painted the inside of the home, he decided to put together a team to transform the exterior of the house. The result was a band of enthusiastic volunteers, which included staff members of the Lighthouse Property Group as well as two contractors, Regan Thaver from Plush Interiors and Rishab Hiralal from Electro-tech, with whom the Lighthouse Property Group has a longstanding relationship, who willingly donated their time and resources to give the babies’ new home a fresh and attractive appearance and to repair broken electrical appliances.
“The Lighthouse Property Group’s success over the past ten years is largely owing to our committed staff and loyal client base and we felt the need to establish a Corporate Social Responsibility programme to give something back to the community,” said Greg Harris. “There are many worthwhile causes we could support but we chose Indlela as it has established a reputation for integrity in the local community, and Fairhavens Babies’ Home in particular for the wonderful work they are doing in caring for abandoned babies right here in the heart of Durban North.”
For the past three years the Lighthouse Property Group has also helped sponsor the monthly costs of fresh fruit and vegetables for the babies of Fairhavens – another practical way to provide these vulnerable children with a chance of a better, brighter future.
